Lock and Hide

Lock and Hide let you control which objects in your design can be selected and which are visible. These features help you work more efficiently on complex designs by preventing accidental changes and reducing visual clutter.

Lock

Locking an object prevents it from being selected or moved in the viewport. The object remains visible but cannot be accidentally modified.

  • Click the lock icon next to an object in the Design Tree to toggle its lock state
  • Locked objects still participate in boolean operations and other calculations

Hide

Hiding an object makes it invisible in the viewport while keeping it in the design. The object still exists and participates in operations.

  • Click the eye icon next to an object in the Design Tree to toggle visibility
  • Hidden objects are still included in exports unless you remove them

Tips

  • Lock your base or reference objects while working on details to avoid accidentally moving them
  • Hide objects that are obscuring the area you’re working on
  • Both lock and hide states are saved with the design
  • You can lock and hide objects in the Design Tree even if they’re inside groups or components
